Today I did a quick card for the Big Idea Festival Day 1 Challenge.  The "Big Idea" was to Make Someone's Day by writing and mailing an actual note written with an actual pen.  My own spin was to use embellishments I already had done.  When I have leftovers from projects or playing with new stuff, I put  them in the accordian file shown here.  For this card I rifled through my stash and I also grabbed a pre-made card base from My Mind's Eye - love those things.

This is a card I made for the "Who's the Boss?" challenge over at the Hero Arts Blog. The background is kraft paper dry embossed with a woodgrain pattern then painted with Twinkling H2O's.  The Hero Arts "Small Metal Fourish" was heat embossed with Zing metallic copper.  The background covered with Twinkling H2O's also.  Finally the leaves were die cut / embossed with Spellbinders' "Assorted Leaves" and Twinkling H2O's makes an appearance yet again!  Before "twinkling" I emphasized the veins of the leaves with a gold uniball pen.

Car Birthday

This is a birthday card for a co-worker. I used the colors from Lily Pad Cards Cover Lover - Auntie Mame book cover as inspiration. http://www.lilypad.inlinkz.com/2011/04/23/cover-lover-11-4/ The red and blue stripe on the Auntie Mame book really grabbed me, reminiscent of old air mail envelopes.

A Sister's Love

I had my daughter give me a "challenge" so she said to use the word "fickle" and the color blue. I used the 4.21 sketch from Sketchy Thursdays for my layout.
